News Desk: In an embarrassing turn of events, the Physics second paper book of the higher secondary level has been published with the photo of Eddie Redmayne, an English actor, instead of the one of theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking.

The photo can be seen on page 634 of the textbook approved by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB), which is jointly authored by Dr Shahjahan Tapan, Muhommod Aziz Hasan, Dr Rana Chowdhury.

The issue already went viral on the social media, garnering growing criticism from different quarters.

At the beginning of this year, the textbook publishing and regulatory body caused many to raise their eyebrows as numerous mistakes were found in new textbooks meant for schoolchildren.

Eddie Redmayne played Stephen in British biographical romantic drama film “The Theory of Everything” released in 2014. The actor also won the best actor Oscar the following year.

Directed by James Marsh, the biopic was adapted by Anthony McCarten from the memoir styled ‘Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen’ by Jane Hawking, narrating her relationship with her ex-husband, Stephen, his diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and success in physics.
